For starters, organizing your closets, drawers, and cabinets will make it easier to find and make use of your stuff. Additionally, large areas always feel more open after decluttering. This to-do list will put Tampa homeowners on track for home organization this year.

1. Begin by outlining a schedule for specific projects. For example, set aside a half hour today for the junk drawer or a cabinet. Schedule times and dates on your calendar this month for bigger projects like cleaning out closets, the pantry, the attic, and the garage.
2. When starting a project, designate an area with boxes or bags to place any unneeded or unwanted items. This will be the place to pile up anything that you have not used in several months or years. This is the most important step in decluttering.

9. Finally, set up rules for future home organization. For example, if you found junk mail cluttering a drawer, make a rule to shred or file mail instead of putting it in a junk drawer.
