Greater Carrolwood in Tampa
Carrollwood is truly a gem, offering an array of wonderful features such as schools, parks, and breathtaking lake views. It’s a community that beautifully blends natural beauty with recreational opportunities.
Carrollwood, originally named after Lake Carroll for the spring-fed lake it surrounds, is located along the east side of North Dale Mabry Highway in the NW part of unincorporated Hillsborough County. In the late 1950’s, developer Matt Jetton purchased 325 acres of citrus land and created the first planned (and award winning) community as a solution to overcrowded conditionsin South Tampa. The mid-century development included schools, parks, lake access and beautiful water views that continue to welcome today’s move-up buyer.
Among the neighborhood’s amenities are “Scotty Cooper” park with picnic areas and playgrounds, a baseball diamond, the man-made “White Sands Beach” complete with boat ramp, fishing, swimming and skiing on Lake Carroll and a new recreation center. Now known as “original Carrollwood,” the community features single family homes with a traditional flavor priced from the low $200’s to over $1,000,000 for prime lake front sites. Carrollwood Village – As housing demands grew in the early 1970’s, Jetton purchased 2000 more acres NW of Lake Carroll and created Carrollwood Village. Here handsome custom homes were constructed around a golf course.
Northdale – This affordable and well-established community is ideally located adjacent to North Dale Mabry Hwy for north-south travel and Ehrlich Road for east-west travel.
Estates of White Trout – This upscale, gated community rests within original Carrollwood, and is located just north of Busch Blvd. Many of these homes enjoy large lakefront settings with every design comfort and amenity you might imagine.
Country Place – The community of Country Place connects to the southwest side of Northdale. An excellent choice for families, professional singles and retirees, this community has access to Country Place recreation.

Plantation of Carrollwood – Located between Linebaugh Avenue on the south and Gunn Hwy on the north, Plantation is comprised of 18 villages that include villas, duplexes and single family homes with 1 and 2 car garages.
Beacon Meadows – This greater Carrollwood community of 2 and 3 bedroom homes with 1 and 2 car garages was built in the 1980’sand is situated north of Gunn Hwy and bordered by Casey Road on the east.
